Immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere of a tranquil bamboo sanctuary in the heart of the city, journey back to Singapore's soft neon-lit era, or admire up close a glowing crab artwork inspired by the region's folklore about crustaceans – these are three of the light installations in the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2025, conveying the message of slowing down, rejuvenating, and creating new values.
According to the VNA correspondent in Singapore, with over 80 experiences, SNF, held from August 22 to September 6, continues to be an event that leaves a lasting impression.
The 16th edition, themed "Island Night," is an attempt to change long-held perceptions of Singapore as a city known for its hustle and bustle.
Island Night invites the public to slow down, reflect on Singapore's rich maritime and island heritage, and embrace new values.
One of the highlights of the "slow living" concept is Kampong Chill, described as a place to "waste time" and "frivolity."

The interactive bamboo sanctuary in the outdoor plaza of Singapore's Capitol offers visitors a different kind of time-traveling experience, set in a rural setting, gazing at the illuminated lights—a message of tranquility and radiance.
Outside the Plaza Singapura shopping mall, the artwork Cyberswordfish V2.0, made from digital waste by an e-waste recycling company in Tuas, carries a profound message about environmental protection.
The light show on the facade of the National Museum of Singapore, along with many other light experiences combined with art and culinary programs, creates a colorful and meaningful night festival.

This is the first time the festival has been organized under the management of HeritageSG, a new unit of the Singapore National Heritage Board.
The organizers hope that, as one of the oldest night festivals in the region, SNF can foster closer collaboration with people in the region, including bringing Singaporean artists abroad to participate in international festivals.
Prior to this, Singapore hosted the first Southeast Asia Lighting Network Conference, named Alight, in late August 2025, with the goal of positioning Singapore as a center and "leader in ideas" for the art of light in the region.
