Despite no changes in design or equipment, Lexus still decided to increase the price of the 2026 GX luxury SUV. In the US market, the car has a starting price set at 66,935 USD (equivalent to 1.76 billion VND) including a shipping fee of 1,450 USD (about 38 million VND). Notably, this price has increased by 750 USD (about 20 million VND) compared to the old version, although there are no changes in design or equipment. This makes many people question the sudden change from Lexus.
According to some sources, it is likely that the new price of the 2026 Lexus GX SUV reflects increased costs related to import taxes, because the Lexus GX is assembled at the Tahara factory (Japan). The car continues to maintain the entire design, engine and features from the 2025 version. Previously, the 2025 GX version was slightly updated with an electric steering column and a 25mm suspension lift on Overtrail variants. The exterior of the upgraded Lexus GX 2026 is still fully equipped with notable amenities such as LED headlights, electric trunk door, sunroof, 20-inch wheels and a tow hook that can pull up to 4,126 kg. The luxurious interior of the Lexus GX 2026 remains unchanged from the previous generation, still with a 12.3-inch electronic clock cluster and a 14-inch central screen, with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.
Highlights of this luxury off-road SUV include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats, interior lighting system, and standard 10-speaker sound system. In addition, the Lexus GX 2026 is equipped with Lexus Safety System 3.0 with driver assistance systems such as full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and collision prevention system with pedestrian recognition. It also comes with features like lane departure warning with steering assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, and smart parking assist with automatic braking.
The Lexus GX 2026 still has a powerful configuration with a 3.4L V6 twin-turbo engine, producing 349 horsepower and maximum torque of 650 Nm. It comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system. This helps the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 175 km/h. Sales of the GX are on track to grow by an impressive 35.7% year-on-year, with 28,244 units sold in the first nine months of the year. Notably, the model has almost surpassed the ES in sales volume, a clear testament to its appeal in the market.
