Quang An night flower market is located on Au Co street, famous as the largest flower supplier in Hanoi . Although it is usually open all night, but nearing Vietnamese Women's Day October 20, this place is even more crowded with buyers and sellers.
According to records in the early morning of October 19, Quang An flower market was crowded with buyers and sellers all night.
On normal days, this flower market mainly welcomes wholesale buyers, who then supply the market. But these days, many retail customers also flock here to buy fresh flowers at "original price" as gifts for October 20th.
“Every year, as October 20 approaches, the flower market is much more crowded. Many people, in addition to wanting to buy cheap flowers, also want to immerse themselves in the bustling atmosphere of the holiday. This year, flower prices are slightly higher than usual, but the increase is not significant,” said a vendor.
This trader explained that the reason for the price increase is partly due to high demand, but more importantly, supply is decreasing sharply due to consecutive natural disasters that have affected many flower growing areas in the North.
According to a survey, the price of small roses ranges from 90,000 to 100,000 VND/bunch, large roses from 200,000 to 220,000 VND/bunch, and gerberas from 70,000 to 100,000 VND/bunch. Although this price has increased, buyers still consider it much cheaper than the market price.
Fresh flowers at Quang An market are mainly imported from famous growing areas around Hanoi such as Tay Tuu, Me Linh, Dong Anh... In addition, many types of flowers from Da Lat, Moc Chau such as sunflowers, hydrangeas, and heather are also transported to the capital.
Many people take the opportunity to choose their favorite bouquets of flowers for the October 20th holiday.
Early morning, Quang An flower market is still crowded, bustling with buyers and sellers, lights lit up a large corner. Trucks carrying flowers continuously poured in, the bustling trading atmosphere lasted until dawn.
