Billiards schedule for Ho Chi Minh City World Cup today, May 23rd.

VHO - On May 23rd at the Nguyen Du Gymnasium (Ho Chi Minh City), the knockout round matches of the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City World Cup 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Tournament will take place.

The round of 16 saw many exciting matches, with the clash between Bao Phuong Vinh and Chiem Hong Thai attracting particular attention from Vietnamese fans.

Bao Phuong Vinh is gaining confidence after successfully advancing through the main draw for the first time.

In Group A, Bao Phuong Vinh performed quite well, securing first place with two wins and one loss. This marks the first time the player born in 1995 has reached the knockout round after participating in the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup five times.

On the other side, Chiem Hong Thai advanced to the knockout round as the runner-up in Group C. This also marks the first time Chiem Hong Thai has progressed beyond the main draw after six appearances at the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup.

Meanwhile, Tran Thanh Luc, the undefeated player in the group stage, will compete against "superstar" Dick Jaspers (Netherlands, world number 3). This will certainly be a big challenge for the home player.

Thanh Tu was the most impressive Vietnamese player in the main draw.

In the other match, representing Vietnam, Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu – who won all his matches in the main draw – will face Kim Do Hyeon, the reigning 2026 Asian Youth Champion from South Korea.

Another match that received a lot of attention was the clash between world number one player Cho Myung Woo (South Korea) and "genius" Caudron (Belgium).

The Round of 16 matches will take place at 12:00 and 14:30 today, May 23rd, followed by the Quarter-final matches at 17:00 and 19:30 on the same day.
