In the context of rapidly developing technology, media, and the digital economy , the boundaries between professional fields are becoming increasingly blurred.

This has led to a significant change in how students choose their majors when entering university.

While in the past, many students chose a major tied to a specific career, nowadays, a significant number of young people prioritize open training programs that offer multidisciplinary connections and high adaptability.

Therefore, interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary training models are becoming a prominent trend in university admissions in 2026.

To provide students and parents with more information and practical perspectives, the admissions counseling program themed "Interdisciplinary and Cross-disciplinary: Major Selection Trends for the New Generation of Students" will take place on May 14, 2026.

Representatives from many universities participated in the program, including Van Lang University, Vietnamese-German University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, and Van Hien University.

According to experts, the rapid development of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) is changing recruitment requirements in many fields.

Businesses today need not only highly skilled professionals but also the ability to integrate knowledge from multiple fields, think flexibly, and adapt quickly.

This is also why many current training programs are designed to integrate technology with business, communication with data, design with marketing, or languages with management.

At the program, speakers will analyze current trends in interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary training in higher education ; and share changes in workforce needs and how universities are adjusting their training programs to suit the new labor market.

In addition, students and parents will also be provided with more information about the curriculum, career opportunities, and the necessary skills to adapt to a constantly changing work environment.

The program will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Education and Times Newspaper (322 Dien Bien Phu Street , Vuon Lai Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

Parents and students interested in this topic can send their questions to the program via email: coquanthuongtrutphcm@gmail.com to be answered in this fourth session of the 2026 admissions counseling program.
