On the afternoon of June 2nd, the Hai An Border Guard Station ( Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard) announced that the unit had successfully extinguished a forest fire in Dong Tan An village, My Thuy commune, in coordination with other functional forces and local authorities.
According to initial information, at over 1:35 PM on the same day, a fire suddenly broke out in the planted forest area of Dong Tan An village. The fire quickly spread over an area of approximately 3.15 hectares. The area where the fire occurred is forest land managed by the My Thuy Commune People's Committee, currently used by local people to plant acacia trees.
Upon receiving the report, the Hai An Border Guard Station mobilized 15 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with 67 people from various functional forces and local residents to implement a firefighting plan. The forces quickly cleared vegetation, created firebreaks, and cordoned off the area to prevent the fire from spreading.

After nearly two hours of efforts to control it, the fire was completely extinguished. Notably, this was the third forest fire to occur in My Thuy commune in just two days. Previously, on June 1st, the Hai An Border Guard Station also coordinated with the local authorities and relevant units to fight fires in Thuan Dau and Tham Khe villages.
The causes of the fires are being investigated by the authorities; at the same time, they are compiling statistics on the affected forest area and related damage.
