To gradually reduce intermediaries and facilitate the timely and accurate payment of pensions and social benefits to beneficiaries, ensuring their rights, the Social Insurance (BHXH) office of Lam Thao district has implemented monthly pension and social insurance benefit payments through individual bank accounts. This payment method offers practical benefits to the people, meeting the practical requirements and trends of modern life.
The Social Insurance Office of Lam Thao district is disseminating information about the benefits and guiding people on the procedures for receiving pensions through bank accounts.
Mr. Le Quang Binh, a pensioner from Hung Son town, Lam Thao district, said: “Receiving my pension through a bank account is very convenient and aligns with the digital transformation trend our country is implementing. Pension payments are made on time, quickly, and are easy to track, without the need for many supporting documents as before. I also frequently encourage other retirees in my neighborhood to switch to this method.”
Mr. Trieu Quang Truong, from Lam Thao town, Lam Thao district, also receives his pension through his bank account. He shared: “I registered to receive my pension through my bank account. Now I don't need to go to the pension payment point like before; instead, the pension is transferred directly to my bank account, saving me time and ensuring convenience and security.”
It is evident that paying pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts is a reform of administrative procedures that aligns with the trends of the times and is in line with the directives of the Government and the Prime Minister on promoting the payment of social security services through cashless payment methods. This initiative has received widespread support from the people in Lam Thao district.
Lam Thao District currently has 8,510 people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits. By the end of September 2024, the district's Social Insurance agency had disbursed monthly pensions and social insurance benefits via bank accounts to 3,646 people, reaching 43% of the total number of monthly beneficiaries. In particular, the urban area, including Hung Son town and Lam Thao town, had a payment rate of 65-70% of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits disbursed via bank accounts. Specifically, in Hung Son town, payments were made via bank accounts to 1,430 out of 2,215 people, reaching 65%; in Lam Thao town, payments were made via bank accounts to 646 out of 920 people, reaching 70%.
To effectively implement the monthly payment of pensions and social insurance benefits via bank accounts in Lam Thao district, according to Mr. Nguyen Chi Dai - Director of the Lam Thao District Social Insurance Office, the district's Social Insurance Office has actively coordinated with relevant agencies and units to advise the District People's Committee to direct communes and towns to establish working groups to implement cashless payments for pensioners and social insurance benefit recipients in the area. They have also intensified propaganda about the advantages of cashless payments for monthly pensioners and social insurance benefit recipients.
Simultaneously, in coordination with the People's Committees of communes and towns, the commune-level police, and commercial banks in the area, conferences were organized to promote cashless pension payments in each residential area. These conferences aimed to explain the benefits of receiving pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts to beneficiaries, and to guide them on how to register for accounts directly. This contributed to the overall success of the campaign to encourage beneficiaries to register for cashless payment methods for pensions and social insurance benefits in Phu Tho .
