On this basalt land rich in revolutionary traditions, many outstanding young people have voluntarily submitted applications to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and pride of youth in the cause of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

Upholding traditions and following in the footsteps of our forefathers.

In Bek village, Ia Grai commune, Puih Nhien is one of the exemplary young men who volunteered for military service this year. Born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, and having heard his grandfather recount the arduous yet heroic years of fighting, Nhien quickly recognized the responsibility of today's young generation towards his homeland and country.

Buih Nhien received advice from his maternal grandfather before he left to join the army.

After graduating from high school, instead of pursuing further education, Nhien proactively volunteered to join the army, hoping to train in a military environment and continue her family's tradition. "I want to contribute my small part to protecting the country, while also honing my character, willpower, and discipline," Nhien shared.

Nhien's decision not only demonstrates a correct understanding of civic duty but also serves as vivid evidence of the spread of patriotic and revolutionary traditions within families, clans, and villages in the area.

Young people confidently assert themselves.

In Ia Boong commune, Siu Ha is one of the exemplary young women who volunteered to enlist in the army. In the context of social life in some ethnic minority areas still being affected by outdated customs, the fact that a young woman proactively registered for military service demonstrates a positive shift in awareness and the aspiration for self-improvement among the local youth.

Siu Hà wrote a letter volunteering to enlist in the army.

For Siu Ha, the military environment is an opportunity for training, growth, and contribution. "I want to challenge myself, contribute to the country, and become a better person," Ha expressed.

Images of young women volunteering to join the army have contributed to affirming the increasingly important role and position of women in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, while also reflecting the effectiveness of propaganda and education on law and revolutionary traditions at the grassroots level.

Implement in a coordinated, thorough, and lawful manner.

2026 marks the first year that Gia Lai province will implement the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military under a two-tiered local government model. In response to this new requirement, Party committees and governments at all levels have focused on providing strong leadership and guidance, leveraging the role of the Military Service Council to ensure the process is carried out correctly, democratically, openly, and transparently.

From registration, resource management, preliminary selection, health examination, political vetting to in-depth understanding of the thoughts and feelings of young people and their families, every step is carried out seriously and in accordance with the law.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoa Son, Commander of the Defense Command of Region 3 - Thong Nhat, said that the unit has completed the infiltration work in 21 communes and wards, ensuring the quality of recruitment sources and maintaining the set progress, despite it being the first year of implementing the new model.

In Ia Grai commune, the chosen location for the military enlistment ceremony for 10 merged communes, preparations were meticulously carried out, ensuring the ceremony was solemn, safe, and in accordance with regulations. This demonstrates the high sense of responsibility of the local Party committee and government in fulfilling local defense and military duties.

Behind every young person enlisting in the military is the synchronized involvement of the entire political system and the consensus of the people. Recruitment efforts not only aim to fulfill assigned quotas but also contribute to educating about traditions, fostering revolutionary ideals, and instilling pride and a sense of responsibility in the younger generation.

Amidst the vibrant spring colors of the Central Highlands mountains, young men and women from Gia Lai enthusiastically set off to join the army with high faith and determination. This is not only a personal choice, but also a continuation of tradition, a concrete action contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and progressively modern Vietnamese People's Army, meeting the demands of the new situation.
