The reason Sesko failed to score

Former football star Rio Ferdinand is worried about striker Benjamin Sesko's performance after MU's 0-3 loss to Man City in round 4 of the Premier League on September 14.

On his podcast, Ferdinand frankly shared: “The person I worry about the most is Sesko. He has no chances, no conditions to finish. A new striker comes to the club, the team's task is to create opportunities for him, so that Sesko can score. But that doesn't happen. This is a problem that needs to be fixed quickly.”

During the 80 minutes of play at Etihad, Sesko only touched the ball 20 times, notably none of them in the penalty area. The heatmap shows that Sesko's regular position is on par with midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte, showing that the "Red Devils" new signing had to operate too far from the penalty area and had little chance of scoring.

Ferdinand also believes that the lack of creativity in attack is the main reason why MU is stuck. He added: “In the first half, we could press and keep the ball well. But when we get into the opponent's half, there is no creativity in the way MU plays. Without Bruno Fernandes, looking around, I don't see anyone who can make a difference. Bryan Mbeumo is not the type of player with the necessary cunning.”

With just one win after four rounds, MU is having a terrible start to the season. According to Ferdinand, if the "Red Devils" do not quickly improve their creativity in attack, the gloomy outlook could continue.
