Man City asserted their dominance at the FIFA Club World Cup, securing their place in the knockout round convincingly after a crushing 6-0 victory over Al Ain. The UAE team officially exited the tournament with a forgettable record, conceding 11 goals in just two matches.
From the opening minutes, Man City dominated the game. It took just 8 minutes for Ilkay Gundogan to open the scoring; although his touch in the penalty area appeared to be an attempt to pass, it inadvertently went straight into the net, beating goalkeeper Khalid Eisa. However, Al Ain weren't completely defeated. Nassim Chadli nearly equalized, but his shot was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Al Ain's resistance was only temporary. Just before the end of the first half, Claudio Echeverri sealed his first goal for the club with a superb free-kick, making it 2-0. Things got even worse for Al Ain when VAR intervened, determining that Ramy Rabia had fouled Manuel Akanji by pulling him back inside the penalty area. From the penalty spot in injury time, Erling Haaland made no mistake, easily converting the opportunity into a third goal for Man City.
Despite manager Vladimir Ivic making substitutions at the start of the second half, Manchester City couldn't stop their goalfest. Haaland nearly scored a brace if not for a spectacular double save from goalkeeper Eisa. However, the fourth goal came in the 73rd minute. Gundogan once again shone with a delicate piece of skill inside the penalty area before calmly finishing past Eisa to complete his brace.

Man City didn't stop there; Pep Guardiola's men added two more goals before the end of the match. Oscar Bobb easily tapped the ball in from close range, and Rayan Cherki sealed the 6-0 victory with his first goal for Man City.
With this result, Man City will face Juventus in the final match of the group stage. Both teams are maintaining a perfect winning record and will compete for the top spot in the group. Meanwhile, Al Ain will have a consolation match against Wydad.
