For the first time in UEFA Champions League history, six teams from the same country will be represented. Under the expanded format, two leagues will be awarded an additional place based on their UEFA points.
This score is ranked by association, based on each team's results in the top three European leagues, from the Champions League to the Europa League and Conference League.

Normally, the Premier League is allocated 4 places for the top 4 teams at the end of each season. But because the Premier League and La Liga are the 2 leagues with the highest UEFA points, they will get an additional place in the Champions League next season. While France, Germany and Italy will only have 4 places.
The first five places in English football will belong to the top five teams in the table, currently Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle and Chelsea. Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are ranked 6th and 7th respectively, and still have a chance to rise with 3 rounds left.
UEFA also awards a place in the Champions League to the Europa League winners. So whether Man Utd or Tottenham win the final on May 21, English football will have a sixth place.
Man Utd and Tottenham are currently 15th and 16th in the Premier League respectively, with no chance of qualifying for the Europa League or Conference League next season. Therefore, the winner will win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, while the loser will lose everything.
No league has ever had six representatives in the Champions League. The most is five, with the Premier League in 2005-06, 2017-18, La Liga in 2015-16, 2016-17, 2021-22, 2023-24, Bundesliga in 2022-23, 2024-25 and Serie A in 2024-25.
English football had hoped to have 7 places in the Champions League next season. However, Arsenal's exit in the Champions League semi-finals against PSG made this impossible. Coach Mikel Arteta's team had to suffer a loss this season despite previously expecting a treble.
