Manulife Vietnam appoints Ms. Tina Nguyen as new General Director

[ Ho Chi Minh City] On July 17, 2023, Manulife Vietnam officially announced the appointment of Ms. Tina Nguyen as the Company's General Director, subject to regulatory approval. Ms. Tina will report to Mr. Phil Witherington, President and CEO of Manulife Asia.
Ms. Tina Nguyen joins Manulife Vietnam from Generali Vietnam, where she has served as CEO for the past 7 years. Prior to that, she worked at Prudential Vietnam for over 11 years and held various senior executive positions, including: Executive Vice President - Marketing and Business Development, Vice President Customer, Vice President Strategy, and Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining the insurance industry in Vietnam, Tina was the Chief Financial Officer for Texas Electric Cooperatives in Austin, Texas, USA. She began her career as an auditor at Ernst & Young and worked across the group’s network of offices in Asia (Hong Kong, Vietnam) and North America (Canada, USA). Commenting on the appointment of the new CEO, Phil Witherington, President and CEO of Manulife Asia, said: “The appointment of Tina Nguyen reinforces Manulife’s priority of driving growth in Vietnam and other emerging markets in Asia. Tina’s outstanding leadership and passion for customer experience will play a key role in enhancing our customer-centric strategy.” Mr. Sachin N. Shah, Chairman of the Board of Members of Manulife Vietnam, shared: “Ms. Tina Nguyen has a lot of experience having run many different divisions in the Life Insurance sector in the Vietnam market. We are delighted to welcome such a talented person to join the leadership team of Manulife Vietnam at a time when the Company is striving to conquer the next phase of its sustainable development goals.”
