TBM No. 2 "Bold" Tunnel Boring Machine Arrives at Station S10

MRB said that the TBM No. 2 tunnel boring machine started from S9 - Kim Ma station on February 3, 2025, and has drilled a tunnel with a total length of about 1,353m/2,592m to reach S10 - Cat Linh station, equivalent to 902 installed tunnel lining rings, strictly complying with technical, safety and environmental standards.

In parallel, the No. 1 tunnel boring machine TBM is also ensuring progress. The machine departed from station S9 on July 30, 2024, then arrived at station S10 - Cat Linh on March 7, 2025, and station S11 - Van Mieu on July 28, 2025. It has now completed the installation of a total of 1,360 tunnel lining rings, with a total drilling length of about 2,040m/2,580m.

TBM No. 1 is preparing to continue drilling the section from station S11 to station S12, and has installed 2/7 temporary tunnel lining rings.

Many experts and workers witnessed the moment when TBM No. 2 entered underground station S10.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Son, Deputy Head of MRB, affirmed that the event of TBM No. 2 "Bold" entering the underground station S10 - Cat Linh is an important milestone, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and persistent efforts of the team of officers, engineers, experts and workers of the entire project.

This achievement is also the result of close coordination between relevant units and the companionship and sharing of the people of the capital throughout the construction process.

The entry of TBM No. 2 into station S10 - Cat Linh is not only a technical success, but also affirms the effectiveness of close, professional cooperation between international engineers, experts and Vietnamese staff and workers.

Foreign experts and consultants are on duty regularly at the construction site of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro project.

Up to now, the overall construction progress of package CP03 - Tunnel and underground stations has reached 66.46%. Underground stations are constructing auxiliary parts (air shafts, elevators), station S12 is constructing the station base structure.

The tunnel lining casting work has completed 2,939/3,488 tunnel lining rings, meeting the schedule to serve the operation of 2 TBM machines.
