Notably, at the time of the emergency, the center lost power, causing all support machines to stop.
Accordingly, on September 7, when storm No. 3 made landfall in Quang Ninh, the power grid system of Dong Trieu Town Medical Center was disrupted, and the generator system was being repaired. The power outage caused the entire ventilator, compressed air, and negative pressure systems of the unit to temporarily stop operating. At this time, patient NTD (77 years old) was being treated at the Department of Intensive Care - Anti-Poison - Artificial Kidney suddenly had an accident.
Overcoming difficulties, the team of doctors and medical staff of Dong Trieu Town Medical Center saved the life of a patient with cardiac arrest during the night of storm number 3.
This is a shock patient being treated in the hospital due to septic shock, acute renal failure, hypertension, type II diabetes and is being actively resuscitated, hemodynamically dependent on high-dose vasopressors, antibiotics, fluid replacement and electrolyte stabilization.
Immediately upon discovery, the doctors made a diagnosis and determined that the patient had stopped circulating . At this time, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Department of Surgery, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, head of the on-duty team, and the on-duty team quickly performed emergency resuscitation to stop circulating circulation.
The emergency team (including: Doctor Nguyen Manh Hung; Obstetrician Pham Sy Tam and 2 intensive care nurses Ngo Thi Ngoc Lan and Doan Thanh Tung) quickly performed chest compressions, placed an endotracheal tube, squeezed an Ambu bag and used vasopressors. At this time, all machinery and support systems were temporarily suspended, lacking light and human resources.

According to a representative of Dong Trieu Town Medical Center, when storm No. 3 made landfall, the unit had 6 patients who were completely dependent on ventilators and monitors, along with 12 patients with end-stage chronic kidney failure who were undergoing periodic hemodialysis.
