(NLDO) – Considered a place where the Five Elements converge, where art shines, the top circus show at Gia Dinh Park is worth seeing during Tet.
The play "The Mysterious Land" attracts viewers
A large number of audiences and tourists came to Gia Dinh Park Circus to watch the play "Mysterious Land" (script: Thuc Tram, director: Quoc Cong). Most commented that this was a large-scale production, combining high-class circus performance art and modern technology, taking the audience from one surprise to another.
The audience followed the mysterious journey of each element of the Five Elements, where there was a struggle between humans and nature, and the valuable lesson learned after the battles was to learn how to connect and harmonize to bring balance, bringing nature back to a state of perfection.
Group circus acts conquer the audience with their delicate and skillful coordination.
"Mysterious Land" tells the story of a village that suffered from drought. The villagers tried every way to solve it. They remembered the legend of "Drums calling the sky". The village chief organized a competition to select a strong person to find 5 stones symbolizing the five elements "Metal - Wood - Water - Fire - Earth" to make offerings to beat the drums to pray for rain.
What is impressive is that the script has logically sequenced the circus performances, so that the scenes of the actors flying, juggling, and soaring in the air are intertwined with the journey to find the five elements. The two main characters are Tung and Moon, they lead the audience into the mysterious world of the land where people with their intelligence, talent, and cleverness have conquered nature.
Each scene creates suspense, bringing the audience to interesting surprises.
Tung and Moon joined the villagers in performing a ritual to pray for rain to dispel the drought and bring a peaceful life to the people.
With a script imbued with folklore mystery, "Mysterious Land" creates conditions for 24 actors of the Southern Arts Theater to demonstrate circus techniques with good coordination, creating circus performances with large crowds and complex movements.
Through two performances before Tet (January 25 and 26 evenings), experts commented that this was the best circus work, captivating viewers thanks to its dramatic storyline, interwoven climaxes, and powerful music and sounds. Especially the intense, urging drum beats and mysterious melodies, creating the sounds of nature as vivid as each audience member was entering with the villagers to face the sound of flowing water, the sound of burning fire, the sound of wind blowing through the forest... Each scene was perfectly coordinated to bring the audience's emotions to the peak.
The audience rushed onto the stage to cheer on the actors in the play "The Mysterious Land"
Director Ton That Can, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association - member of the Arts Council of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports , commented: "This is an outstanding work of the Southern Arts Theater, magical lighting with 3D lighting technology combined with special effects turns the stage into a multidimensional space. Each element will be "breathed into life" through special lighting effects: the sparkling metallic light of Metal, the fresh green of Wood, the shimmering water of Water, the brilliant flame of Fire and the warm brown of Earth. Not just a show, the play also brings a message about the harmony between humans and nature, between the elements to maintain life".
The show will be performed at the Ho Chi Minh City Circus (Gia Dinh Park, Go Vap District) with 2 shows/day from the 2nd to the 5th of Tet (January 30 to February 2), and on the 1st (January 29) and from the 6th to the 12th of Tet (February 3 to 9), there will be 1 show/day.
