*Pork prices in Northern Vietnam:
Pork prices in Northern Vietnam have fallen across many provinces and cities this morning. Accordingly, the 64,000 VND/kg mark has disappeared from the market.
Currently, the price of live pigs in this region ranges from 61,000 to 63,000 VND/kg, with 63,000 VND recorded in the following localities: Hanoi , Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, and Vinh Phuc.
* Pork prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions
In the central region, prices also decreased in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, and Lam Dong , reaching the same level of 61,000 VND/kg.
After a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg, live pigs in Ha Tinh are being sold at 60,000 VND/kg. Other provinces in the region are maintaining stable prices at around 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.
*Pork prices in the Southern region
In the South, prices increased in Kien Giang and Long An provinces, reaching 62,000 VND/kg and 63,000 VND/kg respectively.
Accordingly, traders in the South are currently buying live pigs at prices ranging from 60,000 to 63,000 VND/kg. Of these, live pigs in Can Tho, Long An, and Ca Mau are being sold at the highest price in the region, at 63,000 VND/kg.
* Although live pig prices nationwide have decreased, pork prices in markets remain high because pig prices at slaughterhouses and wholesale markets have not fallen.
Small traders said they would only adjust retail pork prices up or down if live pig prices fluctuated significantly. If live pig prices increased or decreased by about 10,000 VND/kg, pork prices at the market would be adjusted accordingly.
If the price falls below that level, the price of pork will remain unchanged. Furthermore, it is better to keep pork prices stable rather than fluctuating daily, which causes anxiety among consumers.
