HiVOOC is considered a pioneering model combining wildlife tourism and biodiversity conservation.

Diverse resources

In Da Nang , HiVOOC is considered a pioneering model combining wildlife tourism and biodiversity conservation. Before officially launching in 2023, conservationist Bui Van Tuan and his colleagues spent more than three years traveling throughout national parks, surveying habitats, and working with local communities to lay the foundation for the creation of HiVOOC.

According to Bui Van Tuan, Director of HiVOOC Co., Ltd., Da Nang is the only locality in Vietnam that simultaneously records the presence of two rare and highly valuable langur species: the brown-footed langur and the gray-footed langur. He considers this a "rare natural asset that nature has generously bestowed upon Da Nang."

Currently, more than 1,300 brown-footed langurs are living stably on Son Tra Peninsula. Meanwhile, the gray-footed langur population in Tam My Tay (Nui Thanh) has recovered from 60 to 75 individuals (as of 2024).

With its unique biological resources as part of the Truong Son mountain range, alongside the Son Tra peninsula and Cu Lao Cham island, Da Nang boasts a diverse ecosystem. These advantages allow Da Nang to develop a range of ecotourism products: from primate observation and birdwatching to nighttime forest experiences, environmental education programs, and biological research.

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) estimates that Vietnam's special-use forests, nature reserves, and national parks currently attract over 2 million visitors annually, generating approximately 100 billion VND in revenue. While not a particularly outstanding economic figure, this result demonstrates the potential of conservation-based tourism if properly planned and managed.

Tourism linked with conservation

Currently, HiVOOC develops products aimed at raising community awareness by sharing knowledge and telling stories about conservation at each destination.

HiVOOC's tours are designed with a clear mechanism for contributing to nature and the community. From implementing free nature-based experiential education programs for students and their families, HiVOOC also collaborates with experts from Duy Tan University, Da Nang University of Education, and ecological institutes to organize tours. All funding comes from profits as a way of "giving back to nature" and instilling conservation awareness in the younger generation.

Meanwhile, despite only entering the market in early 2024, Next Continent has quickly established itself as a leader in organizing professional wildlife tourism activities in the Central region.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Trinh, Founder and CEO of Next Continent Co., Ltd. (operating in the tourism and travel sector), said: “Da Nang is an ideal starting point for wildlife tourism. National parks, nature reserves, lagoons, and wetlands here are easily accessible and close to major resorts, allowing tourists to conveniently combine relaxation and nature exploration.”

HiVOOC is considered a pioneering model combining wildlife tourism and biodiversity conservation, offering a free nature conservation education program.

With nearly 100 eco-tested tours and itineraries, Next Continent offers authentic experiences of Vietnam's biodiversity. In addition, the company reinvests revenue into habitat restoration programs and community livelihood funds, while also collaborating with international conservation organizations such as the Saola Foundation and The Civet Project… contributing to wildlife protection and maintaining ecological balance in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Currently, there is a strong demand from travel agencies for the development of a specialized policy framework for wildlife tourism...
