The 2025 National Golf Championship is part of the VGA Tour system, jointly organized by the Vietnam Sports Administration, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, Tien Phong Newspaper and the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA).
This year's tournament continues to expand to all male and female athletes of Vietnamese nationality who satisfy one of the following conditions: Professional athletes of Vietnamese nationality; Amateur athletes with a handicap index no higher than 5.0 for men and 10.0 for women.
The tournament size is limited to a maximum of 120 male and 30 female players. The players will compete in stroke play over 4 rounds of 18 holes (72 holes in total). After the first 36 holes, the Organizing Committee will make a cut to select the 50 male players and 12 female players with the best results and ties to continue competing. The winner is the player with the lowest total score (gross) at the end of the tournament.
The total prize fund for this year's tournament is 1.2 billion VND, of which 1 billion VND is for the men's division and 200 million VND is for the women's division. The men's division champion will receive 180 million VND, while the women's division champion will receive 60 million VND.
In addition, the Department of Physical Training and Sports will award gold, silver and bronze medals to the three athletes with the best results in each group.
The tournament schedule includes August 18 for registration and official practice round, August 19 and 20 for the first two rounds and elimination to select athletes to continue, August 21 and 22 for round 3 and final round with award ceremony.
The entry fee for the tournament is VND5 million per athlete. The reigning champion and members of the National Team 1 are exempt from the fee, while athletes under 18 years old (born on or after August 19, 2007) receive a 50% discount.
The 2025 National Golf Championship is expected to bring exciting competitions, while discovering and nurturing promising faces for the national golf team, preparing for the international arena.
Last year's season ended with two championships belonging to Nguyen Duc Son (men's category) and Le Chuc An (women's category).
