Pregnant woman MTT (32 years old, residing in Tuyen Phu commune, Quang Tri ) was admitted to the hospital at 34 weeks pregnant, with signs of abdominal pain. Through ultrasound, the doctor discovered that this was a high-risk multiple pregnancy with a knotted umbilical cord. Immediately after the consultation, the team led by Dr. Hoang Van Toan, Head of the Obstetrics Department, performed an emergency surgery.

The three boys were born weighing 2.1kg – 2.1kg – 2kg, in stable health, and did not need oxygen support. Both mother and babies are currently safe.
A hospital representative said that multiple pregnancies always pose many obstetric risks, so pregnant women need to have regular check-ups and be monitored at a reputable medical facility to promptly handle complications. This is one of the rare triple births in the area, bringing great joy to the family and medical staff.
