Policy support for stakeholders
To date, Bac Kan province has 245 OCOP products ranging from 3 to 5 stars; including 4 five-star OCOP products, 21 four-star products, and 220 three-star OCOP products. To achieve this result, Bac Kan province has focused on supporting OCOP producers through various practical policies.
Businesses and cooperatives participate in promoting products.
The Thanh Tam Leaf-Fermented Wine Cooperative in Bang Phuc commune, Cho Don district, owns the Bang Phuc leaf-fermented wine brand. Ms. Nong Thi Tam, Director of the Cooperative, shared: “Besides our own capital, the Cooperative received approximately 2 billion VND in support from the province through various policies to invest in factory construction, label design, and the development of a quality assurance process. Thanks to the application of a strict production and quality control process, the Cooperative's products have been selected, surveyed, and tested by partner businesses, meeting quality requirements and successfully exported to the Japanese market.”
Recognizing the market demand for increasingly high-quality products—not only delicious but also ensuring food safety and traceability—the Tai Hoan Cooperative has proactively participated in the OCOP Program since its establishment. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan, Director of the Cooperative, shared: “Over the past time, we have received active support from the province through various programs and projects to improve production capacity and product quality.” With continuous efforts, since 2021, the “Tai Hoan Vermicelli” product has been recognized as a 5-star national OCOP product. The cooperative has consistently been recognized as a typical rural industrial product at the provincial, regional, and national levels.
In addition to receiving support for investment in infrastructure and production equipment, the province currently has 11 cooperatives that have been supported in participating in 9 scientific projects/topics aimed at standardizing the raw material areas for producing OCOP products that have already been recognized.
Expanding market connections and product consumption.
In recent times, Bac Kan province has focused on disseminating information and promoting OCOP products through maintaining an electronic trading information portal; organizing trade promotion activities and events in domestic and international markets; supporting businesses participating in e-commerce activities; and building infrastructure for introducing OCOP products.
Bac Kan province organizes many trade promotion events both within and outside the province.
Besides traditional promotional methods, trade promotion activities on digital platforms are being actively implemented by the industry, organizations, and businesses in the province. The Department of Industry and Trade has supported the development of sales and marketing websites for businesses and cooperatives in the province and helped OCOP products participate in the international e-commerce platform https://www.alibaba.com; and other reputable domestic e-commerce platforms...
In addition to organizing and participating in e-commerce activities, the province has also allocated funds to build showrooms and display points for OCOP products. Currently, the province has 19 showrooms and display points for these products in various districts and cities.
The Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Ha Sy Thang, shared: “With efforts to promote, connect, and organize e-commerce platforms to connect the consumption of local OCOP products, hundreds of local agricultural and OCOP products have now been contracted for consumption in supermarket systems nationwide. In addition, many products have been listed on e-commerce platforms, expanding opportunities to reach customers. We have organized conferences to connect supply and demand, promote and sell agricultural products. Through these, we have connected and invited distributors, retailers in provinces and cities, and e-commerce platforms to participate in events and support the consumption of the province's products.”
It can be affirmed that the development of production and the expansion of OCOP products in the province have received significant support from all levels and sectors. In particular, through trade promotion activities, the awareness and actions of economic organizations have clearly changed, with goods produced meeting regulations and standards, both in quantity and quality, to meet market demands. OCOP products from Bac Kan province are increasingly trusted and chosen by consumers, and are now present in most provinces and cities nationwide, gradually approaching export markets.
