The "Delicious Dishes from Rice" competition, organized by the Women's Union of Ca Mau province, took place on the morning of April 26th, as part of the activities of the Science, Technology - Culture, Tourism Week and the first "Delicious Rice of the Mekong Delta" competition in 2026.

Results of the 2026 Mekong Delta Delicious Rice Competition
The competition concluded with many impressive performances from the participating teams, who skillfully and creatively prepared a variety of attractive and delicious dishes using rice as the main ingredient.
Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Linh, President of the Provincial Women's Union, presented commemorative flags to the participating teams in the competition.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, assessed: "The competition has achieved its goal of showcasing and promoting delicious dishes made from rice. With their skills, the teams presented many delicious dishes with different flavors made from local rice grains, along with meticulous and refined decoration."
The participating teams invested carefully in their costumes, adding vibrancy to the competition.
Eight teams from various localities within the province participated in the competition. Each kitchen was a unique creative space, where the familiar ingredient, rice, was given a "new look" by the skillful hands of the women. From traditional dishes with rich flavors to modern variations, everything created a colorful culinary tapestry, appealing in both appearance and taste.
Each team participates in three parts of the competition: demonstrating cooking skills; displaying the dish; and giving a presentation or sharing a culinary story about their entry.
Beyond focusing on cooking techniques, the competing teams also invested considerable effort in presentation, explaining their ideas, and conveying messages about the cultural value, nutrition, and potential of rice. Each dish tells a story, each entry a creative masterpiece, demonstrating the strong bond between women and the rice of their homeland.
The judges listened to the teams' presentations about their dishes and gave them scores.
After a lively competition, the An Xuyen Flavors team (An Xuyen ward) excellently won first prize with their coconut milk silkworm cake dish.
Sharing her joy at winning a top prize, Ms. Le My Oanh, a member of the An Xuyen Flavors team, expressed: “This is not only the result of meticulous preparation but also the team's love for our hometown cuisine. The competition was an opportunity for us to learn, exchange ideas, and spread the value of Vietnamese rice.”
Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, Le Thi Ngoc Linh, presented the first prize to the Huong Vi An Xuyen team (An Xuyen ward).

Two second prizes were awarded to the Vinh Loi Resources - Homeland Rice team (Vinh Loi commune) with their salted fish fried rice dish and the Tan Thanh Rice Fragrance team (Tan Thanh ward) with their seafood fried rice dish.

The Vinh Loi Resources - Homeland Rice Grain team (Vinh Loi commune) was delighted after completing the competition rounds.
The seafood fried rice dish from Huong Gao Tan Thanh team (Tan Thanh ward) was beautifully presented, elaborate, and creative.
Two third prizes were awarded to the Huong Ngoc U Minh team (Nguyen Phich Commune) for their rice cake dish and the Huong Vi Hiep Thanh team (Hiep Thanh Ward) for their shrimp noodle soup dish.
The Hiep Thanh Flavors Team (Hiep Thanh Ward) decorated their dishes in the shape of a Vietnamese zither.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 3 Consolation Prizes, recognizing the creativity and efforts of the participating teams.
