Designer Antonio de Rosa from ADR Studio has just unveiled his concept for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The concept design of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is thinner than previous Apple models and features an improved rear camera system.
Instead of the usual upright pill shape, the new camera cluster features vertically stacked lenses, comprising an array of four sensors, with the additional camera likely being a periscope lens.

Reportedly, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a large, full-screen LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2868 x 1320 pixels and a pixel density of 460 ppi, assuming it continues the design of its predecessor. Notably, the Apple A19 chip, manufactured using a 2nm process, promises superior computing power and high performance.
Like its predecessors, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be officially launched in September 2025. Regarding pricing, it is anticipated to start at over $1,299.
Not the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple is also reportedly developing an iPhone 17 Air model to be the company's thinnest iPhone. The product is expected to be approximately 6mm thick. For comparison, current iPhone 16 Pro models are 8.25mm thick, while the iPhone 14 Pro is 7.85mm thick.
Previously, Apple launched the iPad Pro M4 in May 2024, with a thickness of only 5.1 mm for the 13-inch version, making it Apple's thinnest device at the time.
Notably, the iPhone 17 Air will be the only model with a thinner frame design, while the other models will retain the traditional design language. To achieve this, Apple will have to sacrifice some design elements of the iPhone 17 Air, including a single rear camera, 8GB of RAM, and an A19 chip instead of the A19 Pro. The device will also have a smaller Dynamic Range and Apple's own custom 5G modem.
