Discover Hon Cau – a pristine island that enchants visitors.

There are towering rock formations like ramparts in the middle of the ocean, clusters of rocks stacked like giant hands of nature, and even boulders shaped like boats reaching out to sea. All of these create a fascinating natural landscape, seemingly arranged by the invisible hand of time and the waves.

Hon Cau Island retains its pristine beauty with crystal-clear waters, unique rock formations, and a precious ecosystem.

Nestled among the rocky shores are stretches of fine, white sand, embracing the tranquil, turquoise waters. This beauty makes Hon Cau an ideal destination for tourists who love the sea, enjoy exploring, and seek a sense of immersion in wild nature. The island's atmosphere possesses a unique serenity, easily captivating anyone who sets foot there.

One of the island's most striking features is Tien Beach – often described as a "natural swimming pool" in the middle of the ocean. The water here is crystal clear, the waves are calm, and it's surrounded by large rocks, creating a scene that is both majestic and romantic.

Tourists often choose this place for swimming, snorkeling to admire the coral reefs, or capturing memorable moments. Not far away is the Swallow Cave with its sheer cliffs, once home to swallows. Around the island, there are also many pristine rock formations with strange shapes, eroded by waves and wind over millions of years.

A day exploring Hon Cau Island usually begins early in the morning. Once the boat docks, visitors can follow small trails to admire the sea and sky, take photos at unique rock formations, or simply sit under the shade of a sea almond tree and listen to the gentle sound of the waves.

By midday, many people choose to swim or snorkel in the shallow waters around the island. Simply by putting on a snorkeling mask, the world beneath the crystal-clear water unfolds, revealing clusters of small corals and schools of fish swimming right at your feet.

Besides its stunning natural scenery, Hon Cau Island is also rich in maritime culture. On the island is the Nam Hai Shrine – a place where fishermen worship and pray for favorable weather for their fishing trips.

The presence of the shrine adds to the sacredness of the small island, closely intertwined with the lives of the local fishing community.

Unlike many crowded seaside tourist destinations, Hon Cau Island has almost no tourist accommodation system. The island only has one prefabricated building with over 10 rooms, operated by Hoang Phuc Company, primarily serving tourists who cannot reach the mainland during bad weather.

This place provides food and accommodation for tourists who need to stay overnight on the island due to bad weather.

It is precisely this simplicity that makes the island so appealing: no high-rise hotels, no crowded shops, just the sea, the sky, and unspoiled nature.

To ensure daily needs are met, a seawater desalination system has been in operation since July 2025. With a capacity of 750 liters per hour, the system uses European equipment and undergoes monthly maintenance, converting seawater into freshwater with a salt concentration close to zero. This is a crucial solution, contributing to maintaining operations on the island and serving tourists.

Hon Cau Island has also been associated with sea turtle conservation efforts for many years. From April to October, many sea turtles, mainly loggerhead turtles, return to the island to lay their eggs. The quiet sandy beaches become breeding grounds for new life.

Sea turtles are carefully incubated and hatched on Hon Cau Island.

After the turtles lay their eggs, they are taken to a safe incubation area, and then the hatchlings are released back into the ocean. Regular environmental and marine ecosystem protection awareness campaigns are conducted, helping visitors better understand the value of nature in this area.

After successfully hatching, the baby turtles swim back to the sea off Hon Cau Island.

Amidst the vibrant tourism development of the South Central coastal region, Hon Cau remains a tranquil, verdant haven in the middle of the ocean.
