From being a "climber" of the Road to Olympia Contest to the bronze medalist of the 17th Asia- Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO 2023), Tran Vinh Khanh was directly admitted to the talent program, Computer Science major, University of Information Technology - VNU-HCM.

Khanh is also the first new student to receive a scholarship worth 500 million VND and 24 million VND for 4 years of accommodation at the HCM City National University Dormitory. This is also the highest scholarship that a public university gives to students.

"I didn't expect to receive such a large scholarship. With this amount of money, my family won't have to worry about tuition fees and I can focus on studying better" - Khanh excitedly shared.

Tran Vinh Khanh received a scholarship on the opening day of the school year.

The Quang Tri native said he has a collection of awards from many national competitions in information technology and computer programming. "Since I was a child, I have had a passion for computers. In middle school, I was selected to compete in a district-level competition for excellent students in information technology. The first time I came into contact with computer programming, I felt that I had found the right passion and was determined to improve my knowledge every day," Khanh said.

Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Principal of the University of Information Technology - VNU-HCM, said that the school has decided to spend more than 4.3 billion VND to grant scholarships to new students in the 2023-2024 school year.

Tran Vinh Khanh always achieves high results in computer science exams.

It is known that this year, the school has 29 new students who meet the criteria for scholarships. Among them, Tran Vinh Khanh received the highest scholarship. Five other new students who won second prize in IT in the national competition for excellent students will also receive 350 million VND and dormitory accommodation scholarships. Other students who won third prize and consolation prize in IT will receive scholarships of 140 million VND and 80 million VND, respectively.

In 2023, the benchmark score of the University of Information Technology ranges from 25.4 to 27.8 points. The Artificial Intelligence major has the highest benchmark score of 27.8 points. In second place is Data Science with 27.1 points.
