On May 19th, the Northern, Central, and Southern regions of Vietnam will continue to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy to very heavy rainfall. Specifically, the northern mountainous areas and the Northeast region will receive rainfall ranging from 10 to 30 mm, with some areas exceeding 60 mm.
From the night of May 19th, rainfall is expected to increase significantly in Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An . Many areas will experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 40 to 80 mm, and potentially exceeding 180 mm in some localized areas. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying areas.
In the area from Ha Tinh to Lam Dong and the Southern region, scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur with rainfall generally ranging from 10 to 30 mm, with some areas receiving over 80 mm, mainly concentrated in the late afternoon and night. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
At sea, the weather continues to deteriorate. The western part of the North East Sea, including the waters around the Paracel Islands, is experiencing scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Throughout May 19th, both day and night, areas such as the northern Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang , and the Gulf of Thailand will experience thunderstorms, with a risk of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 6-7, and waves exceeding 2 meters.

In the Northwest region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day, with moderate to heavy rain at night, and very heavy rain in some areas. The highest temperature will be between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius.
In the Northeast region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas during the day, especially in mountainous and northeastern regions, with moderate to heavy rain at night. The highest temperature will be from 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
In the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue, the northern part will experience moderate to heavy rain in the late afternoon and night, while the southern part will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized very heavy rain. The highest temperature will be between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius.
The South Central coastal region will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas, with scattered rain in the evening and night, and locally heavy rain. The highest temperature will be between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions will continue to experience showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain. The highest temperatures will generally range from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.
