The US and Iran continue to exchange attacks.

The US military announced it had attacked targets in Iran over the past two days of the weekend, while Tehran retaliated by targeting bases housing US troops in the region.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on the morning of June 1st that it had carried out "self-defense" attacks targeting radar and command and control stations for Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Goruk and Qeshm Island.

According to CENTCOM, the calculated and targeted attacks on May 30th and 31st were in response to what the U.S. considered provocative actions from the other side.   Iran, including the downing of a US MQ-1 drone operating in international airspace.

CENTCOM stated that U.S. fighter jets responded swiftly by neutralizing Iranian air defense systems, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that threatened shipping in the area. No U.S. soldiers were injured.

CENTCOM stated that it will continue to defend U.S. assets and interests against provocations during the ceasefire.

In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had attacked a US air base in the region in retaliation for the US attack on a telecommunications tower on Sirik Island, according to Reuters. The IRGC did not specify the location of the base, but on June 1st, the military...   Kuwait   The announcement stated that air defense forces had countered an attack involving UAVs and missiles.

Kuwait is an ally of the US and was also attacked after the US-Iran conflict erupted on February 28. The US and Iran ceased fire in early April, but occasional attacks continued during negotiations.

Last week, a tit-for-tat exchange also occurred, with both sides using similar language in their announcements.
