In a social media post, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that its fighter jets destroyed Iranian air defense systems, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones believed to be threatening maritime operations in the region.

According to CENTCOM, these attacks were in retaliation for Iran's earlier downing of a US MQ-1 drone operating in international waters.
The agency stressed that it will continue to protect U.S. assets and interests as long as the ceasefire remains in effect.
CENTCOM also stated that, as of May 31st, the US military had forced 118 commercial vessels to change course and disabled five more as part of the blockade against Iran.
Meanwhile, on June 1st, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had attacked a US air base in retaliation for attacks targeting southern Iran.
The statement did not specify which base was attacked. However, the announcement came after Kuwait, home to a major US base, said its air defense system had intercepted missile and drone attacks on June 1.
