Speaking in India on May 26, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said that discussions between the US and Iran were still ongoing in Qatar, mediated by Pakistan. The US Secretary of State also affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz needed to be reopened to ensure global maritime and energy freedom. Meanwhile, a high-level Iranian delegation arrived in Doha to continue talks with Qatari officials and prepare for indirect negotiations with the US.
