Attending the meeting were Luong Kim Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks; Nguyen Ngoc Sam, Tran Phuoc Hien, and Do Tam Hien, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of departments and agencies. The meeting was connected online to communes, wards, and special zones.

To achieve the socio -economic development goals for 2026, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested that departments, localities, and investors identify this as a key and urgent task. The Department of Finance should review and update growth scenarios quarterly and for each sector. It should advise on assigning specific targets linked to the responsibilities of the heads of departments. Investors should develop detailed monthly disbursement schedules, ensuring that payments are made immediately upon completion of work. They should proactively address obstacles related to compensation, land, and environmental issues. Closely monitor business operations to provide timely support. They should also expedite the completion of infrastructure, create clean land funds in industrial zones and clusters, and finalize the National Petrochemical Refinery Center Project in the Dung Quat Economic Zone.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested a thorough review of revenue sources, handling of outstanding tax debts, and effective exploitation of revenue from land, resources, and e-commerce. The results of GRDP growth, budget revenue, and public investment disbursement will be an important basis for evaluating the performance of the heads of departments in 2026.

In the first five months of 2026, the province's economy continued to maintain growth with many positive signs. The industrial production index increased by 7.69%; export turnover reached over 1.6 billion USD, an increase of nearly 31% compared to the same period. The tourism sector experienced strong growth with over 3.2 million visitors, an increase of 49%. However, this year's growth target still faces many pressures as the GRDP in the first quarter only reached 8.24%, lower than the projected scenario; the construction sector decreased by more than 8.7%; and the disbursement rate of public investment capital only reached 13.2%, lower than the national average.
