The western border region of Quang Ngai province, particularly the communes of Ia Toi and Ia Dal, is considered to have great potential in terms of solar radiation and vast land resources, but agricultural production efficiency remains low. This presents a favorable condition for researching a model of energy-integrated agriculture, while simultaneously enhancing land use value.
Currently, Duy Tan Investment and Development Joint Stock Company is preparing a proposal for the investment in the Ia Toi DT solar power plant project, with a capacity of 140MW. This project has been added to the national power development plan by the Prime Minister .

To ensure effective implementation, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to take the lead in coordinating with relevant units to conduct a comprehensive review of the area's potential, ensuring compliance with the revised Power Development Plan VIII and the provincial plan. The investor is required to continue completing the research and comprehensive assessment documents before June 10, 2026.
