The new files released on May 22nd include numerous documents, audio recordings, and 51 videos , including one of a UFO being shot to pieces. The circumstances of the incidents remain unexplained.

This is the second set of documents released following President Donald Trump's order earlier this year. The Pentagon uploaded the first set of 161 documents on May 8 and promised to release more later.

One of the newly released documents is a 116-page report from the Armed Forces Special Weapons Program from 1948-1950. In it, witnesses recounted 209 sightings of unidentified objects, including spheres and other objects that the U.S. government called “unidentified anomalies” (UAPs).

The report includes accounts of a series of UFO sightings and investigations in Sandia, New Mexico, where witnesses described how UFOs moved, flew away, and disappeared but then exploded.

In another document, an unnamed “senior U.S. intelligence officer” provided his firsthand account of seeing a UFO from a military helicopter in 2025 in the “American West.”

According to him, he saw "mysterious orange spheres that flashed and then faded" while investigating "loud noises heard on the mountain" at a test firing range. This was also the same place where others had seen UFOs in the preceding days.

He said the “series of close-range UAP encounters” lasted over an hour. The UAPs were “very hot,” flying close to the ground and moving at high speeds.

“They were oval-shaped, orange with a white or yellow center, and emitted light in all directions,” the officer reported. He said the swarm of UAPs appeared to cluster together as they flared up and down for minutes, “forming a distinct triangle before disappearing.” He didn’t take any photos because he was too focused on “assessing what it was and whether it posed any threat.”

Most of the recently released videos are blurry footage recorded by the U.S. military's infrared cameras between 2018 and 2023. In the accompanying description, the Pentagon explains that members of Congress requested these videos in March, but many lacked "sequence of evidence," meaning they may have been edited at some point.

One of these videos allegedly shows a U.S. fighter jet shooting down a blurry object. The description states the incident occurred over Lake Huron in February 2023, around the time a Chinese surveillance balloon flew over the U.S., increasing scrutiny of UFOs.

The Biden administration had previously ordered the destruction of several unidentified objects at the time, including what officials described as an octagonal structure with ropes attached, which had been shot down on Lake Huron near the Canadian border.

The documents do not offer any definitive conclusions about the existence of extraterrestrial life or provide evidence of extraterrestrial technology. U.S. officials say people can make their own decisions.

The Pentagon said further documents would be released “in batches.”
