For direct admission, the school reserves 40% of the quota for each major. Candidates for direct admission are those who have won medals at international and regional Olympiads in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Information Technology; won prizes at international science and technology competitions; and won third place or higher at national level in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Information Technology, English, and French.
For Psychology, in addition to the above achievements, candidates with third prizes in the national subjects of History, Geography, and Literature will also be considered for direct admission; the Public Health major will also give priority to candidates who won prizes in Literature.
If the direct admission candidates do not meet the quota, the remaining direct admission quota will be reserved for the admission method based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
If the number of direct admission applications exceeds the quota, the school will consider the priority criteria in turn: Order of awards, English or French language certificate scores, and average score of 3 years of high school.
Candidates applying for direct admission submit their applications from June 16 to 5:00 p.m. on June 30.

With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, Hanoi Medical University uses 5 combinations: B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), B08 (Math, Biology, English), C00 (Literature, History, Geography), D01 (Math, Literature, English), A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry). This is also the first time the school has recruited students according to the A00 combination.

Last year, the benchmark score of Hanoi Medical University based on graduation exam scores ranged from 19 to 28.83. The highest score was for Psychology in group C00. If only counting the traditional group B00, Medicine took the lead with 28.27 points. The lowest score - 19 points - was applied to the majors of Medical Laboratory Technology and Rehabilitation Technology at Thanh Hoa branch.
