13-year-old boy drowns while learning to swim.

In Nghe An province, while learning to swim at the pool of Nguyen Truong To High School in Vinh City, 13-year-old Nguyen Trong Binh was discovered by a friend to have sunk to the bottom of the pool.

On the afternoon of August 24th, the leaders of Ha Huy Tap ward People's Committee stated that they are requesting the Principal of Nguyen Truong To High School to report on and clarify the incident.

At approximately 3 PM on August 22nd, Binh, from Nghi Loc district, along with several other students, went to the swimming pool at Nguyen Truong To High School in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh City, to buy tickets for swimming lessons. A short time later, Binh disappeared. Everyone searched the area and found the boy submerged at the bottom of the pool. When they pulled him ashore, he was unconscious.

Binh was rushed to Nghe An Friendship General Hospital in critical condition. At 6:30 PM the same day, the victim was transferred to Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for further treatment, but died on the evening of August 23rd.

"The patient was resuscitated by doctors, and after 30 minutes, circulation returned, but the prognosis remained very serious because too much water had entered the lungs. After a day of treatment, the child did not survive, the cause being drowning," said the leader of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

The swimming pool at Nguyen Truong To High School opened its doors to students in May and has organized six swimming courses to date.

According to the school's Facebook advertisement, the pool uses European equipment, has a roof, and uses 100% tap water. The teaching staff and coaches are professionally qualified and guarantee parents that 100% of students will know how to swim after the course.

Previously, on August 22nd, a drowning incident occurred at the swimming pool of an international high school in Duong Noi urban area, Ha Dong district, Hanoi , resulting in the death of a 9th-grade male student. Authorities have temporarily detained teacher Tran Lam Thang, 24 years old, for investigation into the charge of Negligence Causing Serious Consequences.

Teacher Thang is accused of failing to supervise the swimming practice, sitting in one place using his phone and therefore not noticing the male student's death at the bottom of the pool.
