Enhancing the capacity to promote rice products.

QTO - Within the framework of the project "Sustainable Income Improvement and Human Resource Quality Enhancement for Peaceful Rural Communities in Quang Tri Province," on the afternoon of May 7th, in Dong Hoi Ward, the Quang Tri Province Income and Human Resource Improvement Project Management Board, in coordination with the Project Management Consulting Office, organized a workshop on "Capacity Building in Strategic Planning and Rice Product Promotion."

Attending the workshop were Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from the Quang Tri Provincial Income and Human Resource Improvement Project Management Board, KOICA Vietnam Office; businesses, distribution systems and rice exporting units; and representatives from departments, agencies, businesses, cooperatives, and cooperative groups participating in the rice value chain.

At the workshop, consultants presented various topics related to strengthening value chain linkages; developing strategies and plans for promoting rice products; and sharing experiences in implementing rice value chain models at the grassroots level.

Representatives from businesses and cooperatives exchanged best practices in production, consumption, and brand building for local rice products. Simultaneously, product consumers shared experiences in market connectivity, consumption standards, and current requirements for rice products within the supply chain.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the workshop "Improving Capacity in Strategic Planning and Rice Product Promotion" is of practical significance in the context of the agricultural sector shifting strongly from a production-oriented mindset to an agricultural economics mindset, focusing on improving quality, branding, and added value for products.

The comrade acknowledged and thanked the Korean Government , the KOICA Vietnam Office, and Korean experts for their support in the implementation of the project "Improving sustainable income and enhancing the quality of human resources for peaceful rural communities in Quang Tri province." He also highly appreciated the meeting with the K-Market supermarket system in opening up many opportunities to connect and sell Quang Tri agricultural products through domestic and international distribution channels.

Quang Tri province has great potential for agricultural development, especially in high-quality rice. However, brand building and market expansion are currently limited. Therefore, the province hopes that this workshop will help businesses, cooperatives, and farmers improve their capacity to develop product strategies, promote brands, expand cooperation, and gradually integrate local agricultural products into large distribution chains and access high-quality markets.
