PravdaUkraine, on the night of May 18 (morning of May 19, Hanoi time), quoted Serhiy Koretsky, head of Ukraine's Naftogas corporation, as confirming that Russia carried out "continuous attacks with three ballistic missiles and UAVs targeting objectives in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine" on May 17 and 18," where Naftogas has major energy facilities.

According to Koretsky, the Russian attacks hit Naftogas facilities. Because the air raid alert has not yet stopped, Naftogas is currently unable to fully assess the extent of the damage.
This is the second time in a week that Naftogas infrastructure has been attacked. On May 13, Ukraine confirmed that Russia fired drones, damaging Naftogas gas production facilities in the Kharkiv and Zhytomyr regions.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced on May 18 that Russia attacked the country with 14 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and modified S-400 anti-aircraft missiles for ground attack, 8 Iskander-K cruise missiles, and 524 suicide or decoy drones.
"Air defense units intercepted four Iskander-K cruise missiles and 503 UAVs of various types. Eighteen missiles and 16 UAVs caused damage at 34 locations, and debris from downed aircraft also fell in 11 areas," the Ukrainian Air Force stated.
This information means that Ukrainian forces failed to intercept any of the 14 Iskander-M and S-400 missiles that they detected during the Russian attack.
AMK Mapping, a channel specializing in monitoring open-source intelligence data on warfare, assessed that the main targets of the attack were defense industrial facilities in the city of Dnipro in the Dnipropetrovsk province, with the Southern Machine-Building Plant (Pivdenmash) being targeted by a barrage of Iskander-M and Iskander-K missiles.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the same day that the Russian attack on Dnipropetrovsk lasted more than six hours. "The missile strike damaged an apartment building and other civilian infrastructure. The attack also targeted energy facilities and civilian buildings throughout the region," he acknowledged.
The large-scale Russian attacks on Ukraine occurred after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on May 17th that it had shot down 1,054 UAVs, 8 guided bombs, a Flamingo cruise missile, and a Neptune-MD missile fired by Ukraine at Russian targets.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that at least 81 Ukrainian drones were shot down while en route to the city center, marking "the largest attack in over a year."
