After suffering a heavy 2-4 defeat against Hanoi FC in the final round of the V-League at their home stadium in Quy Nhon on June 22nd, Binh Dinh FC finished last in the overall standings and will be relegated to the First Division from next season.
This result truly surprised football fans because Binh Dinh FC had won the runner-up title in the V-League last season. Ahead of the 2024-2025 season, the team from Binh Dinh province failed to find a new sponsor, lacking operating funds and consequently unable to invest in a strong enough squad.
This season, Binh Dinh FC has mostly used domestic players who are past their peak. In addition, the policy of acquiring low-quality foreign players is also a reason why Binh Dinh FC has had a poor start, suffering 15 losses and 6 draws after 26 rounds.
After nearly four consecutive years participating in the highest level of national football, finishing in the top 3 twice, Binh Dinh football team will have to return to the First Division from the 2025-2026 season. This is a disappointing result for the fans.

In the match played on the same day, Da Nang FC, despite winning against Song Lam Nghe An, failed to secure their survival in the league, trailing the teams above them by just one point and finishing 13th in the overall standings. The team from the Han River will play a play-off match against Binh Phuoc FC at Thong Nhat Stadium on June 27th to compete for a spot in the league.
After Nam Dinh FC won the championship and Hanoi FC secured the runner-up position in the V-League 2024-2025 one round early, Hanoi Police FC also excellently finished third overall after defeating Hai Phong team, one point ahead of The Cong Viettel .
Besides the thrilling developments in the relegation battle, the competition for the "Top Scorer" title was equally captivating. With a goal that helped Binh Duong FC defeat Thanh Hoa in the final match, striker Nguyen Tien Linh shared the "Top Scorer" award with 14 goals, tied with Lucao (Hai Phong) and Alan (Hanoi Police).
Nguyen Tien Linh is also the first domestic player in 8 years to win the V-League "Top Scorer" title. Previously, in 2017, former striker Nguyen Anh Duc (Binh Duong FC) scored 17 goals and won this individual title in the V-League.
