Starting June 1st, E10 bioethanol fuel will officially be sold nationwide. At gas stations, E5 gasoline will continue to be sold alongside E10 until the end of 2030. RON95 gasoline will no longer be sold. It can be said that from today, the petroleum market enters a major transition phase, moving towards environmental protection.
On the first day of the mass sale of E10 bioethanol fuel, gas stations observed normal sales operations, stable supply, and no interruptions or congestion.
Since the end of May, many fuel distributors have completed the conversion of their retail systems to E10 bioethanol fuel. Petrolimex launched E10 sales across its entire system on May 25th, while PVOIL began selling it widely from mid-May at more than 1,000 of its gas stations nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , after testing E10 gasoline since August 2025, the regulatory agency and distribution businesses have not received any scientifically-founded reports or official technical conclusions indicating that E5 or E10 gasoline causes widespread damage to vehicle engines. Many car manufacturers also confirm that most modern vehicles currently in circulation can operate normally with E10 if maintained according to technical recommendations.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that the transition to E10 bioethanol will help promote the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, lessen dependence on fossil fuels, and align with international trends.
Currently, more than 60 countries worldwide use biofuels, with many having adopted E10 as a common fuel.
