More than 22 years ago, on August 1, 2003, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front issued Resolution No. 04/NQ-ĐCT-MTTW on organizing the "National Unity Day" in residential areas, in commemoration of the founding day of the Vietnam National United Front on November 18, 1930.

A celebration of solidarity.

In Ha Tien ward, the festival showcased many cultural characteristics, attracted a large number of people to participate, and truly became a festival for the entire nation.

From early morning, the central area of the ward was filled with colorful flags, flowers, and the lively sounds of laughter and conversation. The opening cultural performances, featuring graceful Khmer folk dances interspersed with vibrant revolutionary songs, stirred pride and unity among the people. The festive atmosphere was further enlivened by folk games and sporting activities. On the volleyball court, intense ball-handling attracted a large crowd of cheering spectators. The tug-of-war area was filled with shouts of encouragement, everyone's faces flushed red with determination to win. The sack race brought bursts of laughter as groups of participants enthusiastically joined in.

Mr. Huynh Truong Cong Luan, a resident of Ha Tien ward, arrived early to participate in the exciting games and shared: “Participating in the games is both an opportunity for me to improve my health and brings joy and bonding among friends and neighbors in the neighborhood. The festival makes us feel proud to contribute a small part to making the atmosphere more vibrant and meaningful in the locality.”

In a warm, intimate, and friendly atmosphere, officials, Party members, and the people of Ha Tien ward together recalled the glorious traditions of the nation in the struggle to protect and build the country, commemorating the contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The National Unity Day truly became a very meaningful political and social activity, leaving a lasting impression on community life and contributing to the radiant, civilized, and prosperous appearance of Ha Tien ward. Pham Luy Luy, a member of the Youth Union of Ha Tien ward, shared: “Participating in the day, I understand more clearly the value of the spirit of unity and the responsibility of the younger generation in preserving and promoting traditions. This is a motivation for us to live better, study, train, and contribute to our homeland.”

Spread love

Besides the joy of the festival, the acts of gratitude and sharing also left a deep impression. Leaders of the Party Committee, government, and Fatherland Front of Ha Tien ward visited and presented gifts to poor and near-poor households, families of policy beneficiaries, and those who contributed to the revolution. At the same time, they listened to and understood the thoughts and aspirations of the people and voters at the grassroots level. Although the gifts were not of great value, they contained genuine affection and concern, providing timely encouragement for families to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. Ms. Huynh Ngoc Bich, residing in residential area 5 - Binh San, Ha Tien ward, shared: “The meaningful gifts during the festival not only helped my family alleviate difficulties but also brought me hope and encouragement to strive to overcome poverty.”

The festival also serves as an opportunity to commend and reward exemplary collectives and families in the movement to build a cultured way of life, participate in maintaining security and order, and protect border sovereignty. Many good models and innovative approaches in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas are also introduced and replicated. This is also an opportunity for neighborhoods to sign emulation agreements. Therefore, the National Unity Festival in Ha Tien ward is not only a gathering of joy, but also spreads profound humanistic values of solidarity, love, and sharing.

It is this spirit that has become the driving force for every citizen of Ha Tien to join hands in building their border homeland into an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized place.
