More than 22 years ago, on August 1, 2003, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front issued Resolution No. 04/NQ-DCT-MTTW on organizing the "National Great Unity Day" in residential areas, on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front on November 18, 1930.
Day of Solidarity
In Ha Tien ward, the festival has brought many cultural identities, attracted a large number of people to participate and truly became a festival of the whole nation.
From early morning, the central area of the ward was filled with flags, flowers and bustling laughter. The opening performances with the graceful Khmer folk dance, mixed with vibrant revolutionary songs, aroused pride and united everyone. The festival atmosphere became even more exciting with folk games and sports activities. On the volleyball court, the fierce ball fights attracted a large number of cheering fans. The tug of war area was filled with cheers of encouragement, everyone's faces were red, determined to win. The sack jumping game brought bustling laughter as groups of people participated enthusiastically.
Huynh Truong Cong Luan, a resident of Ha Tien Ward, arrived early to participate in the games and excitedly shared: “Participating in the games is not only an opportunity for me to exercise but also brings joy and connection between friends and neighbors in the neighborhood. The festival makes us feel proud to contribute a small part to make the atmosphere more vibrant and meaningful in the locality.”
In a warm, close and friendly atmosphere, cadres, party members and people of Ha Tien ward together reviewed the heroic tradition of the nation in the struggle to protect and build the Fatherland, and commemorated the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The National Great Unity Day truly became a very meaningful political and social activity, creating a lasting impression in community life, contributing to brightening the civilized and beautiful appearance of Ha Tien ward. Pham Luy Luy - a member of Ha Tien ward's Youth Union shared: "Participating in the festival, I understand more clearly the value of solidarity and the responsibility of the young generation in preserving and promoting traditions. This is the motivation for us to live better, study, practice and contribute to our homeland".
Spread the love
In addition to the joy of the festival, the gratitude and sharing activities also left a deep impression. The leaders of the Party Committee, the government, and the Fatherland Front of Ha Tien ward visited and presented gifts to poor and near-poor households, families with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, they listened to and understood the thoughts and aspirations of the people and voters from the grassroots level. Although the gifts were not of great value, they contained sincere feelings and concerns, promptly encouraging families to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. Ms. Huynh Ngoc Bich, residing in Quarter 5 - Binh San, Ha Tien ward, shared: "The meaningful gifts during the festival not only helped my family reduce difficulties but also brought me confidence and encouragement to strive to rise up and escape poverty."
The festival is also an opportunity to commend and reward outstanding groups and families in the movement to build a cultural life, participate in maintaining security, order, and protecting border sovereignty. Many good models and creative ways of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas are also introduced and replicated. This is also an opportunity for neighborhoods to sign emulation agreements. The National Great Unity Festival in Ha Tien ward is therefore not only an occasion for joy, but also spreads profound human values of solidarity, love, and sharing.
That spirit has become the driving force for every Ha Tien resident to join hands in building their border homeland to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
