The World Children's Day is an annual event with practical significance, aiming to create a cultural, artistic, educational, and creative experience playground for children during the summer; contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and society as a whole regarding the care, education, and protection of children.
In 2026, the festival will be organized with a variety of rich and diverse activities, combining exhibitions, life skills education, creative experiences, entertainment, and artistic exchange.

A highlight is the exhibition showcasing outstanding and award-winning works from the 2025 National Children's Painting Competition and Exhibition, featuring 359 paintings selected from 29,626 entries submitted by children aged 5 to 15 nationwide. The artworks reflect the children's lives, studies, playtime, family affection, love for their homeland, customs and festivals, and the innocent dreams of childhood.
In addition, there is an exhibition and communication area on child care, education, and protection; an introduction to the activities of the National Child Protection Hotline 111; guidance on child protection skills in the online environment; and counseling and dissemination of knowledge on preventing violence and abuse against children and safe internet usage skills.
The festival also features an exhibition titled "Youth Responding to Climate Change," showcasing exemplary models and initiatives in environmental protection; a children's art exhibition titled "My Friend - My Imaginary Friend"; and a display area for graduation projects by fine arts and design students, along with children's fashion collections inspired by a blend of traditional and modern cultural elements.

The festival's experiential space is organized into many open interactive areas, creating opportunities for children to directly participate in hands-on activities, creativity, and exploration. They will experience many traditional crafts and folk art forms such as pottery making, ceramic mosaic, clay figurine making, folk art printing, hand embroidery, rattan weaving, making handmade paper flowers, kite making, scented candles, recycled crafts, and many other creative products.
In addition, the festival also features art-related activities such as flashmob dancing, traditional Vietnamese mask painting, creative coloring, and designing comic book character costumes; along with science and technology activities such as English mini-games, children's chess tournaments, fun science experiments, and hands-on experiences with the mTiny robot, the WhalesBot smart robot, and augmented reality (AR) technology.
The "I'm a Firefighter" skills education program, guided by the Fire and Rescue Police Force, will help children learn knowledge and skills in fire prevention, firefighting, escape, and handling emergency situations. In addition, there will be physical games, activities like being a little reporter, a painting festival, an intellectual play area, and traditional games.
The opening ceremony of the 27th World Children's Day - 2026 will take place at 8 PM on May 29th at the stage of the Vietnam Cultural and Arts Exhibition Center.
