Nghe An: Many good models and practices in implementing Directive 05

On May 6th, the Military Party Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016, of the Politburo on promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style (2016-2025). Major General Phan Van Sy, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Military Region 4, attended and directed the conference.

After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05, the Nghe An Provincial Military Party Committee has achieved many practical results, creating a strong transformation in the awareness and actions of each cadre and party member with many good models and creative approaches, creating a strong ripple effect. The armed forces of Nghe An province have achieved many results in all aspects of work and have been awarded 39 collectives and individuals by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defense , the Military Region, and the Provincial Party Committee. In particular, in 2024, they were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the second time by the President of Vietnam.

The Nghe An Provincial Military Party Committee implemented Directive 05 in conjunction with the unit's political tasks. Nghe An province organized two regional defense exercises (2017 and 2022), one provincial-level civil defense exercise (2022), and participated in the SAREX air rescue exercise (2015). Notably, the 2022 regional defense and civil defense exercises featured many new, innovative, and groundbreaking elements, on a large scale, involving coordinated participation from various military branches. Simultaneously, the province directed the organization of 36 district-level defense exercises, 5 flood and storm prevention and search and rescue exercises; 5 exercises under Government Decrees 30 and 130; 14 island defense exercises; and 966 commune-level combat exercises within the defense zone, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.

The Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command implemented Directive No. 05 in conjunction with various campaigns and emulation movements, resulting in many excellent models and innovative, effective approaches. A prime example is the "I Love My Homeland" model, which involves presenting national flags to fishermen at sea, organized by the Youth Union of the Provincial Military Command. From 2016 to the present, 22 flag-giving events have been organized for fishermen in 5 coastal districts and towns of Nghe An province, distributing nearly 48,800 national flags and over 700 gifts, totaling over 2 billion VND. This initiative has had a significant impact and was recognized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department as a model of outstanding achievement nationwide in "Studying and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh "; it was also honored at the "Ho Chi Minh - Journey of Aspiration 2024" program.

The "Connecting Love Between Civilians and Teachers" model of the Women's Association of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command has strengthened solidarity between the military and the people, between civil servants and teachers; donated dozens of breeding cows, 50 bicycles to students, and 286 gift packages; organized 2-3 nutritious meals each month; visited and presented gifts to children in difficult circumstances… with a total value of over 800 million VND.

At the conference, delegates discussed and evaluated the achievements; shared experiences, successful models, and effective methods; and outlined directions and solutions for implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW.

Leaders of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of commendation and honored 5 collectives and 6 individuals who have achieved outstanding results in implementing the emulation movement of women in the provincial armed forces during the 2020-2025 period.

On this occasion, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command awarded Certificates of Commendation to 4 collectives and 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the 10 years of implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo; awarded Certificates of Commendation and honored 5 collectives and 6 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the 5 years of implementing the emulation movement of women in the provincial armed forces from 2020 to 2025; and presented certificates to the authors and groups of authors who won prizes in the competition to learn about the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
