Tighten control over gasoline and diesel fuel.
Given the unpredictable fluctuations in the global energy market, Nghe An province has requested relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of gasoline and diesel fuel businesses in the area. At the same time, it has instructed market management forces to closely monitor businesses, promptly detect and handle violations, contributing to stabilizing supply and preventing speculation and hoarding.

According to observations by reporters from doanhnghiepvn.vn over the three days from March 8th to 10th, after the fuel price adjustment, gas stations in Nghi Loc, Trung Loc, and Than Linh communes remained busy with vehicles refueling. Prices were publicly displayed at the stations as required. Notably, many people bringing plastic containers to buy fuel were refused by station staff to prevent hoarding during market fluctuations.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Don, Deputy Head of the Nghe An Market Management Department, said: Following directives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, and the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade, the Nghe An Market Management Department has instructed its subordinate market management teams to proactively monitor their areas, strengthen inspections and supervision of gasoline and diesel fuel business activities at retail outlets and distribution businesses. Simultaneously, they are conducting comprehensive inspections of gasoline and diesel fuel stations with high traffic volume or those with a high potential for violations.
The inspections primarily focused on compliance with regulations regarding retail price listing, ensuring sales were conducted at the prices stipulated by the management agency, checking the supply of goods, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations concerning the gasoline and oil business. Simultaneously, authorities also reviewed the operations of gasoline and oil distribution businesses in the province. The inspections aimed to assess the supply and inventory levels of goods, as well as evaluate factors that could affect the market in the coming period.
"During inspections, if violations such as hoarding to create supply shortages, arbitrarily increasing prices, selling at prices different from the listed price, or trading in gasoline and diesel of unknown origin or substandard quality are detected, the authorities will strictly handle them according to the law," Mr. Don emphasized.
The synchronized implementation of solutions aims to maintain the stability of the gasoline and oil market in the province, while protecting consumer rights and contributing to energy security and socio-economic stability in the context of a still volatile and unpredictable global energy market.
Ensuring supply
Mr. Pham Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghe An province, said that currently there are more than 600 gasoline and diesel fuel retail outlets in the province. Through inspection and supervision by functional forces, most businesses are still operating normally, publicly displaying prices and selling goods in accordance with regulations.
"Currently, Nghe An has not experienced any localized disruptions in the supply of gasoline and diesel fuel. Businesses are proactively developing plans to stockpile goods and allocate personnel to maintain continuous sales operations," Mr. Hoa said.

Mr. Vo Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of Petrolimex Nghe An Co., Ltd., stated: Currently, the company is one of the leading gasoline and diesel fuel suppliers in the locality. The company manages 88 directly owned retail outlets and supplies gasoline and diesel fuel to over 112 franchised outlets. The supply of gasoline and diesel fuel in the area remains stable.
The company's supply of goods mainly comes from the Nghi Son Refinery and the Dung Quat Refinery, thus basically meeting the consumption needs of the people and the production and business activities in the province.
"To limit fuel hoarding during market fluctuations, gas stations in the system are required not to sell fuel to people using cans, drums, or other large-capacity containers. At the same time, gas stations must maintain normal sales operations and are not allowed to sell in small quantities or refuse service to customers," Mr. Tuan affirmed.
