Nghe An: Highlights on August 25

* On the afternoon of August 25, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in August 2023. At the meeting, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and sectors focused on discussing the socio -economic situation; the implementation of the state budget estimate in August, key tasks and solutions in September 2023.

* On the morning of August 25, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation had a working session with the Department of Finance and the Department of Construction according to the plan to monitor the implementation of Resolution No. 36 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province.

Receiving recommendations and feedback from the departments, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation requested the two departments to continue research on the legal and practical basis to propose the Central Government to supplement policies for the province; at the same time, coordinate with the Provincial National Assembly Delegation in the process of implementing the preliminary summary of the resolution and proposing to issue a new resolution or amend and supplement the resolution.

* From August 22-25, the Department of Foreign Affairs - the standing agency of the Border Steering Committee of Nghe An province organized a training course on national border management and protection of the Vietnam - Laos border marker system in the province. 600 people in the border communes: My Ly, Bac Ly (Ky Son); Tri Le, Thong Thu (Que Phong) participated in the training.

The conference provided people in border communes with practical knowledge and information on the management and protection of national borders, the protection of the Vietnam - Laos border marker system; the prevention of illegal migration; illegal marriage in border areas; the work of ensuring security and order, the prevention of crimes and social evils in border areas; providing information and some measures on the prevention of crimes of illegal human trafficking, illegal exit for freelance work in Laos and some other countries...

* The Vietfast shoe factory project, with a total investment of 30 million USD (equivalent to 690 billion VND) in Bac Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, invested by a Taiwanese company, is currently implementing the site leveling project.

* On August 25, Ban Ve Hydropower Company sent a notice to the relevant authorities and units about the operation of regulating water through the spillway of Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir. It is expected that by 8:00 a.m. on August 26, the water level of Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir will reach the highest water level before the flood of 192.5m. Ban Ve Hydropower Company will operate the reservoir to regulate water through the spillway.

* According to a source from the Quy Chau District Police, on August 24, during the process of arresting and struggling with an illegal drug dealer, part of a special project of the Quy Chau District Police Investigation Agency, Major Mong Van Tan, a police officer of Chau Nga Commune, Quy Chau District, was injured. Specifically, during the pursuit, the subject Vi Van Tuong (HIV-infected), residing in Na Pua village, Chau Nga Commune, recklessly used a homemade sword to fight back in order to escape, causing injury to his right hand.
