Joy in the new home
“Having a new house, I am very happy and excited. Thank you to the Party, the State, all levels and sectors for creating the best conditions for my family to have a place to live,” said Ms. Tran Thi Tieu (residing in Tan Ky commune, Nghe An province).
Mrs. Tieu’s family is poor. Recently, she received 60 million VND from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Borrowing more than 200 million VND from relatives and friends, she built a new, spacious and solid house.

“The old house was damaged and leaked every time it rained. With financial support from the government, and the support of the commune government and other organizations, I was determined to rebuild a solid house so I could live in peace,” said Ms. Tieu.
In Chau Tien commune, veteran Quang Van Hoan’s family has just received support to build a new house. In difficult circumstances with two mentally ill children, a spacious house is a support for the whole family to feel more secure in life.
“I never thought I would have such a nice house. Thank you for the help and support from the government, people, and neighbors. My family will strive to have a better life,” Mr. Hoan said.

Together, united
Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is one of the breakthrough tasks, a major policy, of special political importance and profound humanity of our Party and State in caring for people's lives.
As of July 31, 105/130 communes and wards in Nghe An province have completed the program of eliminating dilapidated houses and housing for the poor and disadvantaged people. Of which, 20,687 solid houses have been handed over and put into use out of a total of 20,802 houses as planned.
Along with focusing on stabilizing the organization and operation of the two-level local government, especially overcoming the severe consequences caused by storm No. 3, localities in the province are continuing to speed up the progress of completing the houses that have started construction and starting the construction of the remaining houses.

To complete the Program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties, the Nghe An provincial government continues to urge and guide the grassroots level to focus on speeding up the progress of construction and repair of houses for the subjects. Organize the handover of houses to people immediately after completion.
In addition to resources from the State, communes have proactively reviewed and mobilized individuals and organizations inside and outside the province to join in building houses for poor households. Applying many forms of support suitable to each household's circumstances such as building "turnkey" houses using the assembly model of the Ministry of Public Security ; calling on philanthropists and businesses to support the construction of complete houses; buying materials; donating essential items; donating livestock to create livelihoods.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province proactively built a specific, transparent and public plan from the survey stage to the support and acceptance of the project. In particular, it empowered people to design, supervise and contribute resources, working days and construction materials. For families with special difficulties, local officials designed their own houses, mobilized resources and human resources to build houses and "hand them over" to the people.

With creative, flexible and humane ways of doing things, the Program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in Nghe An province has truly brought about clear changes in the lives of people in disadvantaged areas, lighting up their faith and motivation to rise up.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province said: “From the beginning, the Provincial Steering Committee has developed a specific plan, clearly assigned responsibilities to each unit and member; regularly inspected, urged, and removed difficulties and obstacles. In addition, it mobilized maximum social resources with the motto "Everyone contributes what they have". The Fatherland Front at all levels plays a core role in coordinating, allocating, supervising resources and creating consensus among the people. The unity in leadership, transparency in mobilization, effectiveness in coordination, and a deep sense of responsibility and sharing in the community are the key factors determining the success of the program".
