According to sources, on the morning of August 15th, the eldest son, who lives with artist Phuoc Sang, noticed his father's room was unusually quiet, so he went upstairs to check and found him lying motionless, unresponsive when shaken.
Suspecting his father had suffered a recurrence of a stroke, the son called an ambulance to take him to the emergency room at Thong Nhat Hospital (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Doctors said Phuoc Sang's prognosis was poor because he had suffered three strokes and had underlying high blood pressure. Fortunately, at 11 PM that same day, he regained consciousness and was allowed to leave the emergency room. The male artist is out of danger, although he is still unable to speak.
Upon hearing the news, many colleagues rushed to visit Phuoc Sang. People's Artist Hong Van was moved as she looked at her close friend, saying he made a pinky promise to get well soon so she could rest assured. Even in his weakened state, Phuoc Sang recognized his colleagues.

Artist Phuoc Sang suffered three strokes, most recently in March 2024, and was treated at the Cardiology Emergency Department of Thong Nhat Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City). For many years, he has lived with underlying conditions of high blood pressure and several post-stroke sequelae.
Last April, Phuoc Sang participated in the filming of the movie "Making Money with Ghosts 2: The Diamond War" with a guest role as a camera shop owner, a friend of Mr. Nhay (played by Hoai Linh).
The film crew took him to the filming location in Ho Chi Minh City, where they filmed for about a day.
When director Trung Lùn extended the invitation, Phước Sang hesitated due to his poor health, fearing it would affect the overall progress of the film crew. Ultimately, he agreed because he wanted to reunite with his close friend, artist Hoài Linh.
During filming, Phuoc Sang had difficulty walking and needed assistance going up and down stairs, so Trung Lun arranged for staff to be on hand to take care of him when needed.
Due to the after-effects of a stroke, Phuoc Sang's memory has deteriorated significantly, making it difficult for him to remember his lines. Trung Lun and Hoai Linh patiently guided him through each line.
Phuoc Sang was born in 1969 in Ho Chi Minh City and was a famous actor in the 1990s before transitioning to directing, producing, and managing theaters.
He founded the 135 Hai Ba Trung Comedy Stage (1990), the Saigon Theater Stage (1998), the Nam Quang Theater Stage (2002), and Phuoc Sang Film Company (2002).
Phuoc Sang was once dubbed the "King of Tet Films" with many outstanding works such as: Hello Co Ba, When Men Get Pregnant, Surrogate Mother ... along with more than 20 television series; numerous music videos , Cai Luong (traditional Vietnamese opera), and comedies.
Among them, the film "Hanoi Silk Dress," produced by his film company, won the audience award at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
In October 2012, Phuoc Sang suffered business losses and accumulated billions of dong in debt due to investing heavily in real estate. Later that year, his ex-wife, actress Kim Thu, announced their divorce.
After this shock, he almost disappeared from the spotlight, only reappearing in showbiz around 2020.
