India-Kyrgyzstan relations are bound by historical links and have over time been warm and friendly.
According to a statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs , Kyrgyzstan Foreign Minister Kulubaev Zheenbek Moldokanovich will visit the South Asian country from December 13-15, and is expected to hold talks with his host counterpart S Jaishankar.

In August, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar extended greetings to Zheenbek Kulubaev Moldokanovich and the people of Kyrgyzstan on the occasion of Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day, expressing confidence that bilateral ties “will continue to strengthen”.
The Indian External Affairs Minister also shared a video showing high-level interactions between India and Kyrgyzstan. The special forces of the two countries conducted the 11th Khanjar joint exercise in Bakloh in 2024. Two years ago, the two sides held the 12th Foreign Ministry Consultations in Bishkek.
After Kyrgyzstan gained independence on 31 August 1991, India was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations (18 March 1992). The Indian diplomatic mission was established on 23 May 1994.
The ANI news agency stated that the political relations between India and Kyrgyzstan are linked by historical and civilizational ties and have traditionally been warm and friendly. The two countries are strategic partners.
Kyrgyzstan supports India's full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as well as its bid to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. In recent times, India-Kyrgyzstan relations have expanded in several areas of bilateral cooperation, including defense, security, trade and investment.
The two countries also share common concerns about the threat of terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
