On the afternoon of January 1st, Ngu Cung band held a launch event for their "Album III – Heritage," marking their return with a lineup of many new members. This is the brainchild that the band has been nurturing for 10 years, featuring works that are "distinctly Ngu Cung," bringing the spirit of folk heritage into the rock genre.
Tran Thang, the leader of the band Ngu Cung, shared that preserving heritage is not only about actions but also about the awareness of each individual.
"Anyone can tell the stories of Vietnam's heritage, but to remember them for a long time and engrave them deeply in the mind, music is the perfect tool. Intangible cultural heritage, natural heritage, and the vast treasure trove of history... are the inspiration for Ngu Cung to compose and preserve this heritage through music," Tran Thang said.

The new album, themed "Heritage," is a collection of 11 works, both released and unreleased, although completed, such as: "Welcoming You Home," "Man Le 1979," "Co Doi Thuong Ngan," "Love," "Sharing a Dream ," etc. The album also includes works with lyrics based on the legacy left by the late musician Tuan Long, which were completed before his death but not yet introduced to the public, such as: "Fire Dance for Rain" (a cultural tradition of the Pa Then ethnic group), "Returning to Childhood," "Son Doong," and, most notably, newly composed songs like " Living Differently" and "Mother Nature."
The album features collaborations between Ngu Cung and many other artists such as: composer Nguyen Duc Cuong, composer Nguyen Duc Long, singer Tang Ngan Ha, composer Nguyen Tien Dat, singer Phuong Thanh, bassist Nguyen Minh Duc…
"From the beginning, the message of Ngu Cung to the rock-loving public has always been consistent: to introduce the beauty and richness of Vietnamese culture and heritage through music."
In our two previous albums, Ngu Cung introduced and told stories about intangible cultural heritage quite extensively. This time, alongside the unique aspects of tangible heritage values, we continue to outline through music the beauty of cultural heritage, nature, and people.

Therefore, the title "Heritage" for album III is the most fitting. This is also our wish: for the audience to feel that Ngu Cung, through its music, tells the story of heritage to listeners, so that the story of culture and art will endure forever," Bui Thanh Ha shared.
Ngu Cung releases the album Heritage - the "brainchild" they've been nurturing for 10 years.
The band's return to the music scene this time will include new members: Hong Phi (main vocal), Xuan Bach (bassist), and Hoang Bac (guitarist). Despite being young artists, their musical vision and meticulous attention to detail in their work have led band leader Tran Thang to invite them to collaborate.
Hoang Xuan Bach (Bassist, 18 years old) has pursued a professional music career since the age of 7, coming from a family with a musical tradition. At just 12 years old, Bach passed the entrance exam for the classical guitar department of the National Academy of Music. After 5 years of studying classical guitar, Bach switched to the Jazz department of the same school and began studying bass guitar professionally.
Hoang Xuan Bac (Guitarist, 18 years old) is a young artist currently studying Jazz Guitar at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Having studied music since the age of 7 and been exposed to rock music from a very young age, Xuan Bac quickly developed a passion for this seemingly edgy yet emotionally rich genre.

Le Hong Phi (Main vocal) pursued art from the age of 16 and was formerly a soldier at the Military University of Culture and Arts. Emerging from The Voice Vietnam 2017, Hong Phi was highly praised for his powerful, refined voice, and most impressively, his high note techniques during performances.
With the desire to continue the "legacy" left by previous generations and tell folklore stories in the distinctive style of Ngu Cung, these artists will undoubtedly be the next generation of rock music artists, dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to their audiences.
In particular, Ngu Cung will easily convey historical stories and the nation's heritage treasures to a wider audience of younger people through its own music.

For nearly 20 years in the music market, Ngu Cung has consistently brought a wide range of emotions to audiences and rock fans with their compositions that blend cultural and folk elements. Frontman Tran Thang has always positioned himself with a "different style" within the rock community: "Preserving heritage is not just about actions, but also about the awareness of each individual."
The band's manager, Bui Thanh Ha, also stated that a special piece in this album is the captivating presence of the Son Doong World Natural Heritage site within the fiery spirit of rock music.
"Only when listening to Ngu Cung's performance of Son Doong can listeners truly appreciate its intensity. Through their music, Ngu Cung showcases the majestic, pristine beauty and unique characteristics of this World Natural Heritage site."
"Driven by the emotion of seeing how beautiful, majestic, and amazing Son Doong Cave is, we asked ourselves why there shouldn't be a musical work about this heritage site. We hope that the public will appreciate that beauty by listening to and experiencing Son Doong through the music of Ngu Cung," Bui Thanh Ha confided.
Album III - Heritage is one of many projects that Ngu Cung will be releasing and working on soon. These include music video projects with massive investments in equipment, crew, creative input… and locations featuring incredibly magnificent natural heritage sites.
