Thang Long Imperial Citadel explodes with "Rock Concert - The Heart of Vietnam"
The concert brought together a host of top Vietnamese rock bands such as: Bức Tường, Ngũ Cung, Chillies, The Flob, Blue Whales, along with guest artists: Phạm Anh Khoa, Phạm Thu Hà, Dương Trần Nghĩa... The show was hosted by MC Lê Anh and singer Thái Thùy Linh.
A special highlight was the first-ever collaboration between rock bands and the Thanh Am Xanh folk music group, creating a unique blend of traditional instruments such as the two-stringed fiddle, bamboo flute, and drums, and modern instruments like electric guitar and jazz drums. This combination was not only innovative but also affirmed the vibrant vitality of folk music in the contemporary world.
Opening the show, singer Thai Thuy Linh and Thanh Am Xanh livened up the atmosphere with the song "Len Dang ," followed by stirring melodies like "Day Ma Di," "Hat Mai Khuc Quan Hanh," etc. The Chillies group brought youthful energy with "Que Huong Viet Nam" and "Dai Lo Mat Troi ," while The Flob inspired with "Bai Ca Dat Phuong Nam" and "Khat Vong Tuoi Tre. "
Ngu Cung continued the program with songs such as: March of Day and Night, Continuing the Story of Peace , Spring Melody, Red Leaves , and especially the performance of Co Doi Thuong Ngan, rich in folk religious colors. The atmosphere of the program reached its climax when Buc Tuong and Duong Tran Nghia performed a series of hit songs such as: Drunkenness, October, Crystal Rose, Long Journeys...
Concluding over three hours of emotional performances, all the artists and thousands of spectators sang " The Road to Glory ," transforming the Thang Long Imperial Citadel into a "sea of people" ablaze with national pride and faith.
Over 10,000 spectators erupted with rock music at Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
General director Nguyen Trung Dung shared: “We want to convey the message that patriotism is not just a memory of the past, but is burning brightly in the hearts of today's youth. When revolutionary songs are infused with a rock spirit, they become a new voice, more relatable and appealing to young people.”
