On May 15th, Mr. Nguyen Kien Quyet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Phu commune (Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province), said that many fishermen in the commune had gone out to sea and caught tons of scad and other fish, bringing in high incomes.

Currently, the waters off Ky Phu commune are teeming with scad and other fish species. Each fishing trip, venturing about 2 to 3 nautical miles from the coast of Ky Phu commune and lasting approximately 2-3 hours, allows local fishermen's boats to catch 1 to 3 tons of fish. Some boats even catch 4 to 5 tons in a single day, with prices ranging from 15,000 to 18,000 VND per kilogram, depending on the type of fish.
Small-sized fish like the "tho" and "do" are primarily used to make delicious fish sauce. Therefore, when the fish are caught and brought ashore, they are quickly bought up by traders and processing facility owners in Ky Anh district.
Currently, Ky Phu commune has 223 fishing boats of various capacities, including dozens that have had abundant catches of scad and grouper. In the past, local fishermen also caught scad and grouper, but in smaller quantities than this time.
