Observations on the first day of implementation in Hanoi showed that the market operated relatively stably. At many gas stations, the number of customers filling up was normal, with no signs of fuel hoarding or anxiety before the transition.

Consumers are proactively learning about and confidently using E10 gasoline.

At gas stations that have started selling E10 gasoline, many consumers are proactively learning about the new fuel before deciding to use it. Reporters observed that most customers are quite open-minded, especially after accessing information from regulatory agencies, businesses, and experts.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung (residing at Alley 9, Hoang Cau Street, O Cho Dua Ward) said: “I have read information from experts about the ethanol content and its impact on the engine, so I feel more reassured. After using it for a while, I find the performance stable, not much different from the previous RON95 gasoline. For now, the car is operating normally; long-term evaluation is needed, but this is a positive direction because it is more environmentally friendly.”

As a ride-hailing driver who frequently travels in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Van Minh shared: “I drive every day, so I'm very concerned about fuel efficiency. Initially, I was a little hesitant, but after researching, I found that E10 is already used in many countries. If the car runs smoothly and the price is reasonable, I'm willing to use it long-term.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Do Thu Ha (residing at 34T Hoang Dao Thuy apartment building, Yen Hoa ward) stated that environmental factors are the reason she supports the implementation of biofuels. From a more cautious perspective, Mr. Pham Duc Long, the owner of a motorbike he has used for over 10 years, said: “I don’t oppose the policy of switching to E10. However, my motorbike has been used for quite a long time, so I still want to monitor it for a while longer to see the compatibility and durability of the engine.”

Sharing this sentiment, Ms. Nguyen Van Anh, who lives on Mac Thai Tong Street, said that her family's motorbike has been used for many years, so she wants to continue monitoring the actual market feedback. "What people are most concerned about is whether the motorbike will consume more fuel or whether it will affect the engine in the long run," Ms. Nguyen Van Anh expressed.

The above opinions show that the general market sentiment on the first day of the transition to E10 bioethanol fuel was quite positive. People are no longer hesitant about bioethanol fuel as they were in the early stages of E5 gasoline.

To switch to selling E10 gasoline, many gas stations have been emptying and cleaning their storage tanks, transferring the remaining mineral gasoline to the central warehouse before importing the new biofuel for sale on the market.

At Petrolimex Station 96 in Phu Lo area, Soc Son commune, the transition had been prepared well in advance. According to the station manager, Le Xuan Trong, the station started selling E10 gasoline on May 1st and has received positive feedback from customers. “After the transition, people were quite enthusiastic. Before that, many people proactively asked when we would start selling E10 gasoline. When we implemented it, customers responded positively because they understand that this type of fuel contributes to a greener and cleaner environment.”

The store representative also reported that most customers did not react negatively to E10 gasoline, but mainly asked questions related to vehicle compatibility, fuel consumption, and product quality. Sales on the first day proceeded normally, and the supply was ensured to be stable.

E10 gasoline is safe for all types of vehicles.

Observations show that one of the most common concerns among consumers today is whether E10 gasoline will affect the performance of their vehicles.

According to Associate Professor Pham Huu Tuyen, Director of the Center for Research on Power Sources and Autonomous Vehicles, School of Mechanical Engineering - Hanoi University of Science and Technology, when using E10 RON95 gasoline, the technical performance of the vehicle is basically equivalent to when using RON95 mineral gasoline. At the same time, harmful exhaust gases such as HC and CO are also significantly reduced.

Experts also confirm that most vehicles currently in circulation can safely use E10 gasoline. The important thing is that vehicle owners need to perform regular maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer, check the fuel system, and replace worn-out parts to ensure safe operation.

From a supply perspective, Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) Nguyen Quang Dung said that the company has proactively prepared the necessary conditions since 2025, from E100 ethanol sources, blending systems, logistics to human resource training and quality control.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the Petroleum and Gas Business Management Department of the Domestic Market Management and Development Agency ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), also informed that the current blending capacity basically meets the needs of nationwide deployment, and the ethanol supply for biofuel production is also ensured. With a demand for E100 ethanol of about 92-100 thousand cubic meters per month for E10 gasoline production, the current blending capacity of key enterprises is assessed to be sufficient to meet market demand. Petrolimex, PVOIL, and Saigon Petro alone have prepared a blending capacity of about 700 thousand cubic meters per month, creating an important foundation for the fuel transition process nationwide.
