On July 28th, the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh province reported that the unit, in coordination with the Bo Trach District Forest Protection Unit and the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Forest Protection Unit, received one rare Burmese python.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho (from Xuan Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province) voluntarily handed over a rare python, a forest animal and wild animal listed in the Red Book, to the authorities.
Accordingly, the person who handed over the large wild animal was Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho, a farmer in Xuan Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province.
At the time the authorities received the endangered wild animal, which was handed over by Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho, the python weighed 4.5 kg.
After being received, this python will be cared for by the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh province.
The Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park will nurture and train the python to regain its wild instincts before releasing it back into its natural environment.
The Burmese python belongs to group IIB, an endangered and rare forest animal listed in the Vietnamese Red Book. Currently, the number of this wild animal species is declining drastically due to habitat loss and hunting.
